February 14, 2025 is a Professional Activity (PA) Day for elementary and secondary schools. Staff will engage in learning on key Ministry priorities: Literacy and Numeracy, and Student Well-being and Safety (view the agenda). There will be no school for students. EarlyON Centres will be closed.

Our Toonie Tuesday campaign has kicked off, and we’re ready to make 2025 our best year yet!
On the last Tuesday in February, we all come together to support students in need within the OCDSB. But you don’t have to wait until February 25th to donate. You can donate right here, right now!
Did you know that requests continue to increase? Every dollar raised will support students’ access to food, clothing, and meaningful activities. You can invest in a student’s potential! Let’s unite to make a difference!
At the Education Foundation of Ottawa, we believe every student deserves the tools they need to succeed. That’s why we’re here. Our mission is to reduce economic barriers impacting student learning and well-being through financial and in-kind support for students in the OCDSB.
The challenges students face are most likely, and often, out of their control. They shouldn’t have to feel the impact of life’s circumstances. The Education Foundation of Ottawa is here to help, but we can’t do it alone.
Here’s how you can commit to create impact in the life of an OCDSB student:
- Make a one-time or monthly donation to our Toonie Tuesday campaign online and receive your charitable tax receipt right away by email.
- OCDSB staff – Participate in our payroll deduction program - it’s an easy way to give back since it comes right off your paycheque and counts toward your annual charitable giving. All you have to do is fill out this secure form that goes directly to the OCDSB Finance department. Just think, you can start making a difference today, even by contributing $2 (or more)/pay.
- Parents and Caregivers - Help your child(ren) understand the importance of giving back and have them come up with creative ideas on how they can raise funds for their fellow students in need.
- School Council – Share information about the Education Foundation of Ottawa with your school community. You can even designate a portion of your annual funds raised to support our important and necessary work. When Toonie Tuesday rolls around, you can make sure to send your child to school with $2 (or more), or you can donate easily through School Cash Online or through our website.
- Community members – Are you, or do you know, a business owner who would like to participate? Businesses can choose an item where $2 or 2% of every sale goes to our Toonie Tuesday Campaign! Maybe you want to host a staff challenge or your own Toonie Tuesday every Tuesday in the month of February. If you know someone who would be interested in investing in the lives of deserving youth, please introduce us by putting us in touch with a local business or community trailblazer!
With almost 10,000 staff, over 75,000 students, and 149 sites, imagine what we could do if everyone gave $2 (or more) on Toonie Tuesday!

New Date - Resource Fair: Transition Planning for Youth with Intellectual Disabilities
5:00pm - 8:30pm
The OCDSB, in partnership with the Ottawa Catholic School Board, is hosting a Transition Planning Fair for families, caregivers and youth with intellectual disabilities. This event will provide information about service coordination, community day programs, recreation, housing and more. Learn more.
